Ugly Sweater Day...

Today was ugly Christmas sweater today at school. I think Mrs. Moore and I took the cake. We are dying to hear who won. My shirt has some meaning...my Mom wore this around our house (probably until I made her mail it to me for this event) since I was in junior high. If you meet my Mom she is a very classy lady, I HAD to get this sweatshirt out of her eyesight! What is really funny, is I got so many compliments from my Kindergarten friends today. They loved the green rhinestones and sparkles. That is why I love this age. Anyways, it was fun and I wanted to share. So glad to work at such a great school!

Gingerbread Hunt...

I think our Gingerbread Hunt was a success! The kids enjoyed making him (Mr. Lairsen helped me make him at home), finding him and then eating him. We actually had a gingerbread boy and girl. Notice in our pictures he escaped our room through the attic...the clues around our school helped us find him soon. He tasted pretty yummy too. Looking forward to more fun this week:).

Updates this week....

We had Naisha's Mom come read to us on Tuesday morning and the kids loved it! We have been working hard during calendar on some problem solving and algebraic thinking. Bet you didn't know they could do that;). We played a game of rhyming concentration and then went ahead and started mixing up our gingerbread man! There was the gingerbread rap we listened to while we stirred and I am trying to figure out how to get it uploaded on here so they can dance to it for you at home....it is a sight. Oh I had to add the team pic...love these ladies.

Our Class Angels...

Thank you all so much for being so generous with your donations to our class angels this year! On Thursday we sat down as a class and took "inventory" of what all our angels would receive. We talked about why we were doing this project as a school and why it is important to give to others less fortunate. I wanted you as parents to be able to see what all we collected. Thank you Amy for going shopping with collected money. You all just made a little boy and girl have a Christmas they will never forget!

Watchdog Dad and Star Student

I love how active our parents are in our classroom. You guys all come in with such enthusiasm, excitement and leave amazed. The kids enjoy having you in there and showing you off. Here is the pictures of Joey and Angelite making a visit!

An Enchanting Fall Day...

The Dallas Arboretum is my new favorite place. I have been there a couple of times before today, but never during the Fall! What an experience. It was peaceful (even with a bus load of kindergarteners), enchanting and could not have been better weather. I loved that we had so many chaperones, the pumpkin class rocked and it seemed the only problem was there was not enough time to take in all the beauty! Please enjoy the pictures. Notice how tired they were by the end of the day.

Thanksgiving Program

Words cannot express how impressed I am with Ms. Rohman and this group of kindergartners. They both put together an outstanding performance. I must add all the parents did an amazing job on costumes and stage props! The program put Purefoy in the Thanksgiving mood. I am so thankful for each of these little girls and guys. Thank you for sharing them with me on a daily basis!
